En un acto protocolario, la comunidad académica y administrativa de Unitrópico recibió de parte de la Gobernación de Casanare, las escrituras del terreno denominado Granja El Remanso, para que sea aprovechado como un escenario para el desarrollo de ciencia, investigación e innovación.
Las más de 7 hectáreas que conforman la granja beneficiarán a los estudiantes de la universidad pública de Casanare, facilitando su proceso de aprendizaje a través de la práctica, con la entrega formal, Unitrópico podrá invertir en infraestructura para reforzar las actividades de los programas académicos que requieren del terreno.
«Un activo importante que va a servir para desarrollar nuestro objeto misional en nuestros tres ejes principales; docencia, investigación y extensión, pero con una proyección que sirva de plataforma para el desarrollo de todo el departamento de Casanare» indicó el rector Oriol Jiménez.
“Queremos agradecer a la Gobernación de Casanare y a Unitrópico, porque es para todos nosotros un anhelo, seguir adelante con los diferentes procesos que favorecen la transformación de la universidad y de la sociedad”, expresó Valentina Becerra, Representante Suplente de los Estudiantes ante el Consejo Académico y futura biólogo ambiental, mientras mencionaba cada una de las prácticas que se están ejecutando en el predio.
La Granja El Remanso cuenta con un área de 7.3 hectáreas y está ubicado a 2.2 kilómetros de la sede principal de Unitrópico, el cual es necesario para que estudiantes y profesores de programas como Biología, Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, Ingeniería Agroforestal, Ingeniería Agroindustrial, la Especialización en Evaluación y Gestión Ambiental, entre otros, adelanten prácticas relacionadas con la biotecnología, zoología, microbiología, viveros, inventarios de fauna, flora y funga, prácticas en clínica de animales pequeños y diversos proyectos de aula, requeridos en la formación profesional de estas áreas del conocimiento.
