Las carreteras de Casanare vuelven a ser escenario de una tragedia. Un motociclista perdió la vida en un violento accidente de tránsito registrado en la vereda Aeropuerto, sobre la vía que comunica a Barranca de Upía con Monterrey, en jurisdicción del municipio de Villanueva.
La víctima fue identificada como Hugo Díaz, habitante de Barranca de Upía, quien se movilizaba en una motocicleta Bajaj Boxer cuando fue embestido por una camioneta Mazda CX-5.
Según el informe preliminar de la Dirección de Tránsito y Transporte, el siniestro ocurrió cuando el vehículo particular, que se desplazaba en sentido Villanueva – Monterrey, invadió el carril contrario, impactando de frente a la motocicleta que transitaba en dirección Monterrey – Villanueva.
El fuerte choque le causó la muerte de manera inmediata al motociclista, pese a la rápida atención de los organismos de emergencia que llegaron al lugar. Las autoridades realizaron el levantamiento del cuerpo, acordonaron la zona y recopilaron el material probatorio.
El caso fue dejado a disposición de la Fiscalía General de la Nación, que adelantará las investigaciones para esclarecer las circunstancias del accidente y establecer posibles responsabilidades.
