En flagrancia fue capturado un presunto integrante del Clan del Golfo cuando realizaba el cobro de una extorsión a un agricultor en Casanare, en un operativo conjunto del GAULA Militar y el CTI de la Fiscalía.
Según las autoridades, el sujeto habría sido enviado desde el Magdalena Medio, donde se desempeñaba como jefe de finanzas de esa estructura criminal y figuraba entre los más buscados.
Al llegar al departamento, inició una cadena de extorsiones contra finqueros, ganaderos y empresarios, a quienes intimidaba con amenazas contra sus familias, trabajadores y bienes si no accedían a pagar.
La captura se dio justo en el momento en que exigía dinero a una de sus víctimas, lo que permitió frenar su accionar delictivo. El caso representa un golpe directo contra las redes de extorsión que venían generando temor en el sector productivo de la región.
