“Recientemente, culminamos la limpieza y canalización de Caño Seco en un tramo de 600 metros, uno de los afluentes por donde bajó la avalancha. Este trabajo se efectuó con el fin de proteger las viviendas ribereñas de la vereda El Encanto sector Villa Esperanza”, informó Arvey Méndez director de la Gestión del Riesgo en Casanare.
Recordó también, que antes de esta intervención, se trabajó en la parte alta de este caño, punto crítico donde se vio en riesgo un pontón y la vía hacia la escuela de la comunidad. Además de estas intervenciones, se trabajó en la adecuación de vías en esta misma vereda, la limpieza y remoción de escombros en el plantel educativo El Encanto.
La maquinaria fue desplazada hacia la vereda Las Mercedes, sector San Pablo, en donde se realizará la rehabilitación y fortalecimiento a dique sobre la margen derecha del río Upía, el cual ha venido protegiendo de inundaciones varias familias de esta comunidad.
