A través de la Resolución 018 del 14 de abril de 2023, la alcaldía de Yopal, en cabeza del mandatario Luis Eduardo Castro, adjudicó el proceso de prestación del servicio del Programa de Alimentación Escolar -PAE-, al oferente Unión Temporal Nutri-PAE Yopal 2023, tras realizar un proceso contractual que estuvo publicado en la plataforma SECOP II, tal como ordena la Ley.
Cabe resaltar que la planeación de este proceso inició en mayo del año anterior (hace 11 meses), tiempo en el cual se adelantaron otros 3 procesos contractuales, que por razones externas no pudieron ser adjudicados.
Desde el momento en que se registraron las dificultades, se contó con el acompañamiento de organismos de control (Procuraduría y Contraloría), con el fin de definir el plan de acción a adelantar, para lograr que se prestara el servicio del programa de Alimentación Escolar en el menor tiempo posible.
Cabe resaltar que por la excelente prestación del servicio que se dio en el 2022, cuando se beneficiaban a 13.000 estudiantes, el Ministerio de Educación Nacional, definió otorgarle a la Secretaría de Educación de Yopal, un reconocimiento que se vio reflejado en aumentar la cobertura en 1.300 raciones más, por lo que en este 2023, serán 14.300 los estudiantes beneficiados.

Prestar los servicios del Programa de Alimentación Escolar tiene una complejidad desde la misma capacidad de operación diaria, preparación de más de 14 mil raciones previa adquisición, acopio, distribución, alistamiento de insumos y preparación de las raciones en cada restaurante escolar.
